Leonard Nimoy - Music To Watch Space Girls By (1967)
I'm not much of a Star Trek fan but I love the idea of Leonard Nimoy being in character as Mr. Spock for this album, especially because it has instrumentals, such as this one, that he clearly has nothing to do with. It's highly illogical.
Note: It's a cover of a Bob Crewe song from the previous year. The producer here is Charles R. Grean (though uncredited?) who worked with Nimoy to put this whole thing together.
It kind of makes me think of other great fictional characters who could put out an album in similar fashion. You could have Captain Picard and Data do a duet. Or Walter White could cut a record about making meth in New Mexico with Jesse Pinkman as his hype guy?
ReplyDeleteI'd nominate Macho Man Randy Savage's rap album "Be A Man" as the top contender for such a concept, but wrestling isn't fake.
