Vom - Too Animalistic (1978)

It's a beautiful day and a beautiful time for Vom. Off of "Live From Surf City", one of the greatest of the great EPs from the Epic Era Of Punk.

On the mic here we have Richard Meltzer, songwriter and rock critic - some say he invented long form rock criticism. He also wrote banger tunes such as "Harvester Of Eyes" and "Burnin' For You" for Blue Oyster Cult. And we got Gregg Turner and Metal Mike Saunders, who went on to form The Angry Samoans.

As far as the song itself, it rules. And this monologue is stuck in my head forever...

Bob and Coozy, ya know, they have a brand new car. It's blue, and like uh they're gonna go cruisin' today. Coozy's drivin', starts the car and turns it over, ya know, but it makes too much noise. Bobby monitors and says ya know, noise is uncool. So like uh she tries again but it makes even more noise. He says stop it, ya know, that's too animalistic. So like maybe something's wrong and she goes out and opens up the hood, ya know, to check what's wrong. She uh looks way down ya know looks way way down inside and he says uh stop it also, cuz ya know like that too... Too Animalistic.

The twofer video is linked down below the audio if you wanna see the Vom folks having a nice day at the beach paired with the classic "I'm In Love With Your Mom".
